Grades 6-8 Overview
Youth in Grades 6 and 7 use the St. Mary’s Press Curriculum, Catholic Connections. This curriculum is designed to strengthen the participants’ Catholic identity and inspire them to participate more fully in the Church’s mission. The sessions in the six courses will help young adolescents to make connections between the Catholic faith and everyday life and to strengthen their connection to the faith community.
Youth in Grade 8 use the Loyola Press Curriculum, Called to Be Catholic. This curriculum provides young people with a comprehensive presentation of the essentials and key teachings of the Catholic faith—centered on The Creed, The Sacraments, The Moral Life, and A Life of Prayer. Developed with adolescents in mind, Called to be Catholic offers substantive, engaging content, Scripture, and prayer that inspire young people to deepen their relationship with God and recognize that faith matters.
