Welcome to the St. Therese Confirmation Program! We are dedicated to helping your son or daughter grow in their relationship with Jesus and love for His Church as they prepare for this holy sacrament. Through the Confirmation process, we will…

• Teach your youth about Christ, His Church, and His sacraments

• Lead them to encounter Christ through worship and the sacraments and deepen their relationship with Him

• Challenge them to discover their God-given gifts and the vocations to which God calls them

• Give them vital tools to deepen their life of prayer

• Introduce them to a vision for a full life in Christ

• Form them into a community of disciples prepared for Jesus' mission in the world

We pray that through preparation for the reception of Confirmation, your son or daughter will find a home and purpose in the Church as they are conformed to Jesus' heart!

Confirmation Requirements

Confirmation this year will take place on Sunday, February 4th, 2024, at 2:00pm, at the Basilica of Saint Mary in Minneapolis.

Although the sacrament takes place in February, our program runs through April, so that candidates are able to process and reflect on their experience and their future. Any candidate registering for St. Therese’s Confirmation program is expected to participate until the end of the year.

Some of the major components of our program include:

• Twice-a-month Confirmation Sessions (a total of 11 from September through April) where students will meet in small groups to practice prayer, discuss the Christian life, and review core catechetical concepts related to the sacrament of Confirmation

• Participation in two half-day retreats (on November 19 and March 10)

• Required Adoration hours (three and a half before Confirmation and two and a half after)

• Participation in parish ministry

• Selection of a sponsor and completion of four sponsor check-in activities consisting of a guided conversation and a brief reflection assignment
