We Need Your Help to Spread Some Christmas Cheer!

St. Therese Parish is working to provide Christmas Boxes and shower kits for the families served by Mary’s Place and Sharing and Caring Hands in Minneapolis.

Here are Some Ways You Can Help:

1. Purchase and donate select items for the Christmas Boxes including: food, blanket, toilet paper, laundry detergent sheets, and chocolate (see specific requests for these items below). Drop off your donations in the bins in the main church entry by the weekend of December 6-7.

2. NEW THIS YEAR! Purchase items for shower kits using the St. Therese Parish and School Shower Kit & Christmas Box gift list found on Amazon. Click here to access our Amazon gift list. All items will be mailed directly to St. Therese. (Order before November 23 to ensure delivery prior to our December 10 packing day.)

3. Assemble a Christmas Box and/or shower kit at home and bring to the gathering space by December 6-7. Please see the very specific list of items that are included in the Christmas Boxes and shower kits below. Please follow this list carefully when prepping your box or kit.

4. Buy some goodies at our Christmas Box bake sale after all Masses the weekend of December 6-7. Proceeds will be used to purchase blankets and the remaining items needed to complete the boxes and shower kits.

5. Donate $ for items in the boxes and kits and we’ll do the shopping. Donations may be made after Masses December 6-7 or dropped off in the parish office at any time. Make your check payable to St. Therese and note “Christmas Box Project” in the memo line.

We appreciate as many items as you wish to donate! Faith Formation families will pack the boxes and kits with the donated items on December 10. Christmas Boxes and shower kits will be delivered to Minneapolis on December 11. Thank you!

What’s in a Christmas Box? (No glass items, please)

Drop-off in church vestibule after Tuesday, November 11

1 CUB Foods tote box (assemble all items listed below to fit inside the box)

1 NEW blanket (Queen size or smaller)

1 pkg. of Laundry Sheets (not dryer sheets)

1 pack of Toilet Paper (6-8 rolls per package)

1 Peanut Butter (40 oz container)

1 Jelly (20 oz plastic squeeze container)

2 cans Prepared Soup (18 oz cans)

2 cans Meat (10-12.5 oz cans)

1 Bag Rice (32 oz bag)

2 packages of Spaghetti noodles (16 oz packages)

1 container of Spaghetti Sauce (45 oz PLASTIC container)

2 cans Fruit (15 oz cans)

2 cans Vegetables (15 oz cans)

3 boxes Macaroni & Cheese (7.25 oz boxes)

Chocolate Candy (1 package)

What’s in a Shower Kit? (No hotel-sized items, please!)

1-gallon Ziplock bag (arrange everything below in bag and zip securely closed)

Hand Towel            Washcloth         Adult Tooth Brush

Razor                Dental Floss      Lip Balm        

TRAVEL SIZES ONLY (Not hotel sizes) of the following items:

Shampoo                Conditioner     Shave Cream

Body Lotion            Bar Soap Deodorant

Toothpaste      Hand Sanitizer 

The Giving Tree

Please take a tag or two from the trees in the Gathering Space and purchase a gift this Advent for someone less fortunate.

Please attach the tag to your UNWRAPPED gift and leave in the bin by the trees in the Gathering Space by December 7. THANK YOU!
